202 Cleanliness Freelancers Alerted in KBT Every Day

To clean up the East Flood Canal (KBT) area, around 202 freelancers under Jakarta Cleanliness Dept are deployed every day. Those are divided into three zones. Averagely they can pick up trash weighing three trucks per day.

Division Head of Water Activity Management Unit (UPK) for Jakarta Cleanliness Dept, Junjungan Saragih said, from 202 freelancers, 52 out of them are assigned to Duren Sawit and Jatinegara sub-district. The jurisdiction includes Cipinang Besar Selatan until Jl I Gusti Ngurah Rai Pondok Kopi bridges.
Then 100 other freelancers sent to Cakung Sub-district. The jurisdiction starts from Jl I Gusti Ngurah Rai bridge until border of Cilincing. As for in Cilincing, North Jakarta, there are 50 freelancers assigned. Every day they work from 8 AM-4 PM.

Coordinator of Water Division UPK Freelancer, Bayu Santika added every heavy rain, the canal also gets trash flow from the upstream. Trash is usually drifted out of Cipinang, Sunter, Buaran, Jati Kramat rivers and some connecting channels (PHB).
